Centre for Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine (CTERM)

As part of the Faculty of Medicine, this centre is dedicated to training of the next generation scientist in this field. Interdisciplinary collaboration is the key factor in promoting discovery and accelerating translational research. Collaboration between scientist, physician and surgeons has led to significant discoveries.

Regenerative Medicine Cluster

IPPT has three main activities namely clinical services, collaborative research and post-graduate degree programmes. A clinical trial complex has been set up with clinical facilities and research laboratories to equip the needs of clinical services.

Department of Biomedical Engineering

The department also established a research center and specialized research laboratory in 2008. Center for Applied Biomechanics (CAB) and Medical Informatics and Biological Microelectromechanical Systems (MIMEMS) Laboratory are formed to enhance research activities in this department.

Cell Therapy Centre

The hospital had achieved several outstanding milestones in the field of medicine such as state of the art treatment and surgery as well as introducing Tissue Engineering a new treatment method. It has also carried out the revolutionary brain surgery where the patient remained conscious. It was performed by a specialist from its Neurology Unit.

Genetics and Regenerative Medicine Research Centre

The Genetics & Regenerative Medicine Research Centre (GRMRC) is affiliated with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with a focus on genetics and regenerative medicine research. Along with our research, we provide educational programmes for advanced graduate studies.

Institute of Bioproduct Development

UPM is recognised by the independent government assessments as one of Malaysia’s leading research Universities.
